Spring sprang months ago and we’re well into summer, but I’m finally getting around to sharing these spring bridal shower invitations. I’ve been so busy making invitations this wedding season that I keep forgetting to post (/photograph/write about) said invitations. Well prepare to be bombarded over the next few weeks with wedding details a-plenty : )
First up: a spring celebration for my sister, Katie! We are flying out to San Francisco in September for her big day. You can see her save the dates here, and her wedding invitations are being printed as we speak! ( (or rather, type…)
Kate and I were very lucky to grow up in a neighborhood where neighbors became family and the occupants of each house stayed mostly the same over the years. Our neighborhood “aunts” wanted to throw Katie a very special shower and asked me to design the invitations.
One of my favorite parts of being a stationery designer is finding unexpected ways of combining textures, patterns and colors. I started with the floral illustration around the edge of the invitations and had that printed in white ink on kraft paper by Atmosphere Printing Company. I found a gorgeous floral paper from Antiquaria that felt perfect for a spring shower. In yellows and oranges with a splash of purple, it just brightens up the whole suite. In order to keep the invitation simple, the registry information was moved to the back. I used the floral paper to create mini envelopes attached to the back of the invites, and tucked the registry information inside.
The floral illustration was repeated on Sage envelopes from Paper Source, and I added a pop of the Antiquaria paper as a liner.
I just love how light and springy this suite feels!
